The festivities begin with a torchlight procession from the Town Hall to the Fairground and continue with a "baléti" (Provençal dancing). Just as the dance is about to start, a huge bundle of firewood containing several different species of wood and wrapped with a ribbon in the town colours, is set ablaze.
Small twigs are available on sale so that spectators can make a wish on them before throwing them into the flames. The little bunches bravely fight the flames for several minutes before flaring up in a brilliant flurry of sparks. Get ready! It’s time to jump the fire to make sure your wish comes true!
