Since the first Festival in 2003, its success has continued unabated and some 600 children from the town and surrounding areas make sure to come for an exciting day of festivities. Sporting the Feria dress symbols (bandanas and T-shirts) offered by the Municipality to all St. Martin youngsters participating in the festive lunch, they join in a fun-loving human wave, united under team colours and in their eagerness to have fun.
Both in spirit and in name, this event embodies the affinity of the dual bullfighting culture of our region: "Feria" for the Spanish tradition and "di Pichoun" for the Provençal one. For the organizers, it represents an opportunity to pass on this priceless legacy to future generations.
Thus, in an unparalleled atmosphere of community, the city streets and arenas are transformed into scenes of jubilant exuberance: parades, shows, bull runs in small "carretoun" carriages, lessons in Camargue racing and Spanish bullfighting techniques, pony rides, etc.
With very simple means, children also take part in many popular games of long ago. To keep them happy, a few apples, some pails of water, skittles, hoops, or even pieces of string will do the trick! With a mere nothing, you can make them jump for joy!
Throughout the year, the "Actualités" section (in French only) offers full information on upcoming events (programmes, timetables, venues, etc).
